Contraindication to the use of IO S21

Like any kind of administration of energy from the outside, also ELECTROSTIMULATION also presents contraindication; there are absolute and relative contraindications.
Absolute contraindications, caused by incidental risks to any type of Electrostimulation, can relate to any clients.

Relative contraindications refer instead to clients who present specific pathological conditions where Electrostimulation can disrupt, the evolution of the pathology or with the ongoing therapy.

Electrostimulator must not be used:

on pelvis;
on testicles.

We relate the following contraindications existing up to now:

  • People with metal fragments inside them, which could scatter or shift because of the effect of a solenoid, and/or joule effect (heating).
  • People who use metal articular prosthesis
  • People affected by phlebitis, thrombophlebitis or varicose veins
  • People who have a pace-maker installed: there is a risk of dysfunction caused by impulses of radiofrequency.
  • Pregnant women
  • People who hold IUD (intrauterine devices): as a consequence of the applications of electrostimulation on the pelvic zone, on buttocks and inner thighs, can cause the displacement of
    the IUD from the anatomical site. (only if not well positioned)
  • People affected by important inflammatory and acute disease (cancer, leukaemia, skin disease etc.)
  • People who have had an organ transplant.

    NOTE: In case of doubts, we recommend that you ask the patient to contact their general practitioner, asking for a medical certificate
    to allow the treatment.
